THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE PAN
Meet Ecolon™.
Born from the earth. Free from everything else.
Neoflam's ceramic non-stick coating is made from natural silica — the same fundamental material as sand. No synthetic fluorochemicals. No compromise.

The coating that starts with sand.
Silicon dioxide — or silica — is one of the most abundant materials on earth. It's in rock, in soil, in sand. And it's the core ingredient in Ecolon™, Neoflam's proprietary ceramic non-stick coating.
Through a specialised sol-gel process, silica is transformed into an ultra-thin ceramic layer that bonds permanently to the pan's surface. The result is a coating that's naturally smooth, naturally non-stick, and naturally free from the synthetic chemicals that raise concerns in conventional coatings.
There's something quietly satisfying about that. The pan that cooks your family's meals, made from the same material as the beach you walk on.
From raw earth to your kitchen — how Ecolon™ is made
Natural Silica
Silicon dioxide is sourced from natural deposits — the same elemental material found in sand, quartz, and glass.
Sol-Gel Process
The silica is converted into a liquid sol — a stable colloidal solution — that can be precisely applied to the pan surface in ultra-thin layers.
High-Heat Curing
The coated pan is cured at high temperatures, causing the silica to harden and bond permanently to the aluminium body — creating a surface as tough as ceramic tile.
Ready to Cook
The finished surface is smooth, non-porous, and naturally non-stick — no PFAS, no PTFE, no synthetic fluorochemicals needed.
What Ecolon™ is free from.
And why each one matters.
The broad class of synthetic "forever chemicals". PFAS accumulate in the body and environment. Ecolon™ contains none.
Polytetrafluoroethylene — the compound most associated with traditional non-stick cookware. A type of PFAS. Ecolon™ is engineered without it.
Perfluorooctanoic acid — a processing chemical historically used in non-stick manufacturing. Now banned in many countries. Neoflam has never used it.
Lead has no place in cookware. Ecolon™ is independently tested and certified to contain zero lead.
A toxic heavy metal sometimes found in coloured coatings. Ecolon™ passes strict heavy metal testing with no detectable cadmium.
Clean — and it actually works.
Choosing non-toxic shouldn't mean sacrificing performance. Ecolon™ is engineered to cook well, day in, day out.
Effortless Release
Food slides cleanly from the surface with minimal oil. Perfect for eggs, fish, and anything that normally sticks.
Even Heat Distribution
Aluminium bodies conduct heat quickly and evenly across the entire cooking surface — no hot spots, no uneven browning.
Easy to Clean
The non-porous ceramic surface doesn't hold onto residue. A soft cloth and warm water is all it needs.
Oven Safe
Most Neoflam cookware is oven safe up to 240–260°C — start on the stovetop and finish in the oven, seamlessly.
Getting the most from Ecolon™.
Ceramic cookware rewards a little care. These simple habits will keep your Neoflam performing beautifully for years.
Use low to medium heat
Ceramic conducts heat extremely efficiently. Medium is almost always enough.
Choose wood, bamboo or silicone utensils
Metal tools will scratch any ceramic surface over time.
Hand-wash when possible
Hand washing significantly extends the life of the coating.
Let it cool before washing
Allow it to cool a few minutes before cleaning to avoid thermal shock.
Store with protection
Place a cloth or pan protector between stacked pans.
Ecolon™ — your questions answered
How is Ecolon™ different from other ceramic coatings?
Ecolon™ is Neoflam's proprietary formulation — independently tested, PFAS-free, and refined over many years to balance non-stick performance with long-term durability.
Is Ecolon™ truly 100% non-toxic?
Yes. Ecolon™ contains no PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead, or cadmium. The base material (silica) is an inert mineral that doesn't react with food or release compounds during normal cooking.
Can Ecolon™ withstand high heat?
Most Neoflam pans are oven safe to 240–260°C. On the stovetop, we recommend low to medium heat — ceramic conducts so efficiently that high heat is simply unnecessary.
Is Ecolon™ safe for babies and children?
Yes. Ecolon™ is free from lead and cadmium and contains no PFAS compounds — one of the safest choices for cooking food for infants and children.
